An Alabama man has filed a proposed class action in which he claims DirecTV, LLC used a prohibited automatic telephone dialing system to place robocalls to consumers’ cell phones without consent. The plaintiff alleges the defendant unlawfully contacted him on at least eight occasions between January and February 2018. With each call, DirecTV left artificial or prerecorded messages, the complaint states.

During a January 31 call, the plaintiff allegedly informed an employee of the defendant that “he was not a customer, had not been a customer” and to immediately cease calling his cell phone and leaving voice messages.
